Botanical Survey Listing 2017

Male and Female Hazel Flowers

                    Male and Female Hazel Flowers

The Botanical Survey has already been reported in a previous post on the website.  However, we are now able to unveil the full listing of the two Cants, C and N (see map), which were surveyed last year.  There were less recordings in Cant N, but this was expected because it was previously a non-intervention area.  It  had never been coppiced by Tottington Woodlanders, and probably is uncut since before the Second World War.  The lack of light in the area is probably responsible for the reduced number of species.  It will be interesting to observe how the area responds after we include it in the coppicing cycle.

The results for the two Cants are listed Below.
