Due to the unprecedented amount of rain over the past few months Fulking Fair has been cancelled.  The committee which organises the fair inspected the site last week and decided that it would not be possible to go ahead.  The site is currently waterlogged and with more rain forecast the situation is likely to get worse.  Linda Coomber, the show organiser said “it would pose a risk to exhibitors and the general public that were due to attend.  It would also make gaining access to the fields virtually impossible”.

Tottington Woodlanders were due to attend the show on the 29th. July to demonstrate green woodcrafts using pole lathe and shaving horse.  The cancellation of the event is a disappointment to us as it is a truly local traditional country fair.  It is hoped that next year the weather will be more favourable and that the fair will continue.
